Youth

Sunday

All our children and young people join the first part of our Sunday morning service from 10.00am and then go to their groups.

Youth Zone

School years 7-13: Meets in the upper room of the new building. Young people gather for a time of Bible study, activities, discussion, and prayer.

Those at the upper end of this age group are welcome to either stay in the service or join us for our youth zone group.

Youth Band

Our youth band meets once a month, usually on the first Friday of every month, from 19:30-21:00 in the new building. This group is open to all in school years 7-13 and to all musical abilities.

1:1’s/Mentoring

We offer 1:1’s or mentoring for young people who would like it. Please get in touch if this is something you would like to find out more about.

Child Protection

All of our youth team leaders and helpers have DBS clearance and undertake regular safeguarding training. You can read our full safeguarding policy here.

Midweek

Midweek youth groups meet as follows:

Youth Zone Club

Fridays at 7.30pm – 9.00pm for school years 7 – 13

This group is open to all in school years 7-13. We gather each week for games, chat, food and friendship. Some of our activities this past year have included: rounders at the park, ice-skating, bootcamp night, ‘Dragon’s den’ challenge, a barn dance, walks up the Tor and much more! A weekly email goes out to parents and carers letting them know what the activity is for that particular week. To be added to this email list please contact: [email protected].

We always end our evening at Youth Zone Club by having a five to ten minute talk where a leader or helper will tell us about their experience of being a Christian, or will give a talk based on a Bible passage. This is a key part of our activity, perhaps leading to discussion among the young people and leader who gave the talk.

Annual Events

Each year we run a camp for all those who attend any Youth Zone activity, as well as friends who may want to come along too! This usually takes place in the Easter holidays and involves staying at an accommodation venue for a couple of nights, with lots of fun, games, activities, and teaching filling our time whilst away. Camp is open to those in school years 7-13.

From time to time we run specific ‘youth’ services, encouraging our young people to get involved. Usually, our youth band helps leads worship at these services.

Each year we run a Youth Alpha programme, designed to give young people space to ask questions and engage in conversations about faith. This usually happens alongside a meal.
