Sunday Groups

All our children join the first part of our Sunday morning service from 10.00am and then go to their groups:

Age 0 – 3: Meets in the Corner Room, visible from the main meeting room.

Age 3 – 11: Meets in the old building.  After a short time together for a snack, news and singing, children are taught in small groups.

We have one form which can be completed on-line and covers all our regular activities for one academic year.

You can find this form here

All our children’s team leaders and helpers have DBS clearance and undertake regular training.   You can read our full Children’s safeguarding policy here

Our children’s worker is Helen.  She is an experienced teacher who loves spending time with children of all ages.  Please contact her for any further information you need: [email protected]

For young people at secondary school and beyond, we have a vibrant youth programme.

Usually held during the first week of the school Summer holiday, for primary school children.  There is an annual theme and each morning includes a story, drama, jokes, competitions, games and craft.  Details are circulated through schools and on our social media.

In the Easter holidays children who regularly attend our activities and so know us well are invited to a weekend of fun and adventure at our annual Kids Zone camp.  You have to be 7 or more to come.  Speak to your group leader if you are interested.

Members of our children’s team have the privilege of working with local schools to deliver collective worship and some aspects of the RE curriculum, sometimes alongside folk from other local churches.  This includes weekly Open the Book assemblies and means that many of us are familiar faces to local children.  Twice a year we invite schools to bring their Year 6 classes to our building for a fun teaching session, one at Easter – Easter Unscrambled – and one at Christmas – Christmas Unwrapped.  It’s a highlight for many local schools!

Watch out for members of the children’s team at local events such as the Merriman Park Fun Day and the Street Christmas Fair, where we often pop up with a craft or game for you to join in with.

Thursday mornings in term time from 10.00am to 12.00pm in the new building.

This is a friendly group for babies, pre-school children and their carers.  We provide free play, craft, refreshments, a Bible story and singing in a happy and safe environment where the children can play while the grown-ups have time to chat and enjoy each other’s company.

Thursday evenings in term time from 6.00pm to 7.15pm in the old building.

This is a lively group for 7 to 11 year olds.  Each week’s club is based on a Bible story or theme and activities are related to that, including games, challenges, craft and cooking.

Friday afternoons in term time from 3.00pm to 4.45pm at the Victoria Club, Leigh Road, Street.

This is a drop-in group for carers and children together.  It’s a great place to unwind after a busy week.  We provide free play activities and a supervised craft.  Refreshments are available for adults and children and we all stop half way through the afternoon for a short Bible-based talk.
