We are involved in many activities aimed at trying to reach and support as many people as possible in our community
Our Sunday Services are open to all. During the week, regular meetings take place where we cater for all age groups, from toddlers through to the elderly. Pilates classes are also held once a week.
Near Easter and Christmas, we invite children from local schools to come into the Church. During these sessions, the children learn through craft activities and teaching as the Easter story is ‘unscrambled’ and the Christmas story is ‘unwrapped’.
Each Summer we hold a Holiday Bible Club which aims to reach children in our locality. Each year there is a biblical theme around which stories, craft, singing and games are enjoyed.
We support mission initiatives at home and abroad.
We have a CAP Debt Centre to help those in financial difficulties and run CAP money courses.
We started a Community Lunch. A lunch for members of the community is held most Friday’s at the church.
We are also involved with Green Door Families, which supports the most vulnerable in our community.
Our desire is to be a church that is a ‘light set on a hill’ and ‘salt’ in our community.
We have been placed, as God’s people, within local areas and a local community that we are commanded to live among, love, and serve so that God’s love for all in Jesus might be shown and known.
We are active in provision for the community, encouraging others in their life situations, and speaking of Jesus whenever and wherever we can.
Below is information about some of these ministries, although they do not represent all that we do.

The CAP Money Course is a revolutionary money management course that teaches people budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based system that really works. This course is designed to help anyone to get more in control of their finances, so they can budget, save and prevent debt.
More details
The CAP Money Course is a DVD based course that will teach you:
- How to build a budget
This is the cornerstone of managing your money well. The session includes advice on how to increase your income and how to cut costs. - The CAP Money system
This system will help to simplify your money and make it understandable. It operates using three accounts for your money: a regular payments account, a cash account and a savings account. - To use cash instead of cards
Living on cash and getting away from cards means you know exactly where you are and helps you to spend less money.
Doing the CAP Money Course means you will be able to budget, save and spend on the things you want.
After watching the DVDs, trained CAP Money Coaches will be available to help you build your budget and answer any questions you may have. A unique benefit of the CAP Money Course is that, if you discover that you can’t balance your budget and pay off any debts, you will be able to access CAP Money Plus. This is an Internet based debt counselling service from Christians Against Poverty.
What to Expect
The CAP Money Course is run in thousands of locations throughout the UK by churches that partner with Christians Against Poverty. The course you sign up for will usually run over three evenings in consecutive weeks, but some are run during the day. Some courses are run from the church building and others in cafes or similar. The number of people attending can range from 2 to 40.
Our CAP Money course runs regularly throughout the year, but our CAP Debt Centre operates all the time. The team at Street Baptist Church partner with Christians Against Poverty to provide FREE debt counselling in our community. If you feel weighed down by debt then we can help. You may think your situation is impossible, but there is hope.
Our friendly team will give you a listening ear in the privacy of your own home and will provide a practical solution to your debts. If you would like to talk to one of the team and start the journey to becoming debt free, then call free on 0800 328 0006 or you can call our Centre Manager, David Hall on 07985 614515.
