Building God's Church

The New Church Building

God’s church is not made up of stone, bricks, timber, cement, UPVC or any other man-made materials. His church, of which His Son is head, is the body of Christian believers who have put their faith in Jesus.

It’s our commission, and our part in God’s plan, to spread the Good News within each of our communities, and that’s why we are so thankful to God for His provision, guidance and support over many, many years as we now begin a new chapter in the work of Street Baptist Church and open the doors on our new “annexe”.

We have an amazing and awesome God, and for God, nothing is impossible. At times over the last few years, when a number of obstacles were looming ahead, including when it appeared planning permission back in 2013 would not be granted, God answered the prayers of our fellowship.

Over £1m has been raised by the fellowship over the last 6 years; enough funds were available back in 2016 to break the ground and start the physical building. 3 ½ years later we can hold our commissioning service (14 Sept 2019) inside a purpose-built annexe and celebrate all that God has done.

There is still some work to be done to create the link between the old and new buildings, some equipment still to be purchased, some of the rooms to fully furnish to make them usable for all our groups and activities – but we know that our God will oversee these final few elements in the same amazing and graceful way he has overseen the last few years to get us to this point.
