This wonderful chapter of the Bible - Romans 8 - starts with these amazing words: “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ” … perhaps the most amazing words ever written! Words of freedom, of life, of truth, of joy; words that should change everything about how we live and what we are.

However, it's so easy to read these words, admire them, but never come to understand the reality of them in our lives.

In this series we come across many amazing passages just like v1. But none of them contain words that we merely 'frame' or embroider and put onto our walls. Rather, in this series we want each person to see that these are words to live by, words to apply … words to live out."

We have entitled this series "All I am in Jesus". We will see that Romans 8 is crammed full of who you are … all you are when you are “in Christ”, and we want you to me amazed, we long that God would take your breath away at these statements, we desire that we all grasp the reality of amazing statements like these in our lives day by day: v1 I am not condemned; v1-4 I am free; v4-6 I am transformed; v7-11 I am alive; v12-14 I am spirit led; v15-17 I am confident; … v35-36 I am not overcome; v37 I am a conqueror; v38-39 I am secure.

As Christians, if we do not grasp and live out these truths, we are living like a millionaire who never touches his riches and so starves. We read that we are free, but live condemned every day; we read that we are spirit led, but constantly choose to be led by sin; we read that we are confident in Him, yet live daily in fear; we read that we are conquerors, yet live as slaves to worry and concern.

So let's seek God to open our hearts to listen to His Spirit, challenge us from His word, and draw us to know more of all the riches He has for us each day as we live in the light of these glorious words.
