Why membership?

Some people may come from a background where the fellowship does not practice a covenant membership. We understand that there are differing views on this, but Street Baptist has church membership because the principles that underlie it are found in scripture. We expect that all who join with us regularly will consider these principles carefully in the light of scripture and will commit to join us as church members.

How do I become a member?

The only requirements for membership are:

You know Jesus as your Lord and believe in Him alone for your salvation
You are walking in fellowship with Him - you are seeking to be more like Him every day
You have attended the fellowship and God has directed you to commit yourself to the fellowship

Expectations of Members

What are the expectations for church members?

First, we want to say that as you become a member we are committing ourselves to you! Specifically: to your pastoral care, to helping you to grow spiritually and to use your gifts for the glory of God and the building up of the church. The members all have a responsibility to care for one another!
