About Home Groups

Small Groups are one of the most important ways of deepening relationships and providing a place for mutual care and encouragement.

A Small Group usually has 10 - 15 people, who meet together once a week in someone's home or in the Church Hall for Bible study and prayer.  Every group is different, but the aim is always to encourage and support one another, to develop fellowship within the church and to deepen in our knowledge and love of God.

Typically a group will start at 7:45pm with a Bible study lasting about an 45 minutes.  This will then be followed by a time of prayer (for each other, the work of the church and other issues).  Finally there will be coffee and biscuits and a chance to catch up with each other.

Sometimes the programme might include a meal or a visiting speaker or a get-together with another Small Group.  In order to get to know the whole family some groups may arrange bring and share lunches, meals or outings.  All groups have their own particular flavour.

Three groups meet in Street and one in Keinton Mandeville.  The group that meets in the Church Hall follows a more traditional sermon style, rather than as a discussional bible study, for those who feel more at home with this approach.
