We are so pleased to have so many people coming to the church regularly, and to have friends, family and visitors joining us. We welcome everyone into our Sunday services and our mid-week Bible Study. We hope that you learn more about Jesus, come to understand how we all need to know Him as saviour, come to faith in Him as saviour and lord, and grow in love and knowledge of Him.
We hope that you will be keen to come regularly, become a member, and get involved in the life of the fellowship.
Involvement in the life of a fellowship is really important - important for the church and important for you. In Col 3:15-16 we find that believers, as part of 'one body' are to love one another, encourage one another, share God's word with one another and worship God together. God has given the church His gifts for one primary purpose - so that we might be used to build the body (1 Cor 14:12). We are all given different gifts (1 Cor 12:4-11), and these are to complement one another in His work in the church.
There are no passengers, no spectators, in God's church. All of us have a purpose (1 Cor 12:18-19). And in Street Baptist we see see it as vital that we enable each person to be useful in His Kingdom.
Although we are very happy to consider people for roles within the church who are not members, we strongly encourage all to become members. This will usually be the first step in really getting involved.
In these pages we will identify a range of opportunities that are available within the fellowship. Do look through them, talk to any leader within the fellowship, and we will seek to move you into a role as soon as possible.
We are committed to training God's people for use within the fellowship or elsewhere. If you are interested in something, but feel that you might not be able to do it, don't worry! We will talk through the role with you and, if it seems appropriate, will seek to add you to a team where you can learn and grow in the role. As part of a team, you will also have the support of other believers in your walk with the Lord.
